Dallas is located in the Central Time Zone in North Central Texas,
35 miles east of Fort Worth, 245 miles north/northwest of Houston,
and 300 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico, near the headwaters of
the Trinity River.

Average minimum temperature is 54.6 degrees Fahrenheit (12.6 degrees
Celsius); average maximum temperature is 76.3 degrees Fahrenheit
(24.4 degrees Celsius). Dallas has an average annual rainfall of
33.70 inches (85.6 cm).

With its central location, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
and a superior support system, Dallas enjoys great accessibility.
DFW International Airport, the world's busiest, provides travel
to any North American city in four hours or less. Dallas Love Field,
in the heart of the city, provides regional service. Service from
Dallas' new, modern light rail system offers rapid and convenient
travel complementing a well- developed system of interstate
and state highways.

Each night in Dallas, there are more than 110 live performances.
Dallas Arts District, a 60-acre development and the largest urban
arts district in the country, is anchored by the Dallas Museum of
Art and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

Dallas has been rated "Best City for Business" by magazine; Fortune
magazine; the state's best-managed large city by Texas Business
magazine; and the second-best- managed city in the U.S. by Financial
World magazine. More than 110,000 businesses and nearly 10,000 headquarters
are located in Dallas, which is among the country's largest employment
centers for high technology, as well as the second-leading fashion
and apparel center. Dallas has no personal or corporate income tax
and no state property or unitary tax.

Dallas, a regional center for medicine and healthcare, is home to
world-class healthcare centers Baylor Medical, Presbyterian,
Methodist, Medical City, St. Paul Medical Center, Parkland Hospital
and Children's Medical Center as well as the education and
research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dallas is a leading medical center with 56 hospitals, 13,469 licensed
beds and 4,853 physicians is the Dallas area.

Dallas offers 406 public parks and more than 60 lakes and reservoirs
within 100 miles of the city and seven state parks within an hour's
drive of Dallas. Dallas provides many recreational and athletic
facilities for youth, adults and senior adults at 518 recreational

and the Dallas Sidekicks. Suburban Mesquite hosts world championship
professional rodeo.

convention cities in the United States. Visitors have over 58,000
hotel rooms in the area to choose from, with a wide variety of lodging
options. More than 100,000 jobs in Dallas County are directly related
to the hospitality industry one out of every 10 Dallas workers
